As the largest province geographically, with a 300kmcoastline and the lowest population density, the Northern Cape offers vast untapped potential.The province’s competitive advantages lie in its expansive land, rich mineral wealth, abundant renewableenergy resources and thriving agricultural sector. Key agricultural outputs include vegetables, grains, fruits,protein and some of the country’s finest wines. Complementing these are awe-inspiring landscapes and richbiodiversity, which enhance the province’s tourism appeal.Renewable energy dominates the province’s economic landscape, with world-class solar and wind resourcesdriving its status as the hub of South Africa’s green energy projects. Central to this is green hydrogen, atransformative economic catalyst with the potential to amplify the Northern Cape’s logistical capabilities. As aglobal pivot for the green energy transition, the province is advancing plans for the Boegoebaai Port, a state-ofthe-artfacility set to enable large-scale hydrogen exports and other logistics opportunities.In tandem, Upington is poised to become a world-class dry port, re-engineering its role as a logistics hub.These developments will facilitate efficient transport networks, reduce logistical bottlenecks and positionthe Northern Cape as a critical trade gateway for South Africa and the Southern African DevelopmentCommunity (SADC).Tourism, one of the province’s most vibrant sectors, offers diverse opportunities for investment.
