Welcome to the 10th edition of the South African Business journal. First published in 2011, the publication has established itself as the premier business and investment guide to South Africa, supported by the website www.southafricanbusiness.co.za. Regular pages cover all the main economic sectors of the South African economy and give a snapshot of each of the country’s provinces. This issue has a focus on Special Economic Zones which are being rolled out across the country with specific economic areas of focus. The importance of the revival of minerals exploration and the significance of onshore and offshore gas discoveries is the subject of another special feature.

DSI | Turner & Townsend | LEDA 4 08 November 2021 The Fetakgomo-Tubatse Special Economic Zone received from the Limpopo Department of Economic Development, Environment and Tourism an allocation of R35-million (FY 2021/22) which was earmarked for the following activities and projects: District Skills Audit, environmental impact assessments (EIAs), township establishment (land rezoning), engineering designs and costing for the perimeter fence, site clearance, Eskom cost estimation and acceptance of quote, engineering designs for an Eskom switching station, water allocations (assessment of demand per industry), an Implementation Readiness Study and engineering designs. The whole R35-million is committed to the enlisted projects.
